“She’s my heart horse. She’s raised my babies.”
That’s how Holly of Lazy S 6 describes Snazzy, a mare she bred and has watched grow into a trusted partner, a hardworking ranch horse, and a babysitter for her children.
Over the years, Snazzy has done a little bit of everything. But when something as ordinary as rolling became frightening—because she couldn’t always get back up—Holly worried she might lose her.
In this interview, Holly shares their story in her own words: who Snazzy is, what they were facing, how a gifted bottle of Source became part of their lives, and why she’s such a believer today.
A Horse Who’s Been There for Everything
Holly, let’s start with an introduction. What’s Snazzy’s full name, and tell us a little about her.
Her registered name is Sheza Snazzy Showcase, aka Snazzy. She’s an APHA mare, born May 2, 2012.
How did you two find each other? Have you been together from the beginning?
I created her with my mare, Pacs Boogie Star, and local legend Red Duke!
So you’ve known her for her whole life. How would you describe her personality? What makes her special to you?
She’s honest and reliable. Her face, like mine, always shows the world what we’re thinking.
What has life together looked like over the years? Is she a working horse, a trail partner, a family horse?
She’s been the star of many clinics, run barrels, worked several ranches, and done lots of trails. I’ve had her working colts—especially the rude ones!
She’s done versatility, therapy, obstacles, parades, and babysat the kiddos.
Right now, with my workload, she gets a lot of hangout time with her friends.
“It Was Scary for Us All”
What was happening with Snazzy that first made you consider trying CBD?
Snazzy is a BIG GIRL.
With that and a couple of injuries as a foal, she’d gotten stiff and struggled to get back up after a roll. I had to start getting the tractor to help her up.
It was scary for us all, and I feared we were going to have to put her down.
Her X-rays were clean. We—the vet team and professionals—couldn’t figure out how to help her!
What had you explored before trying Source?
We’d done X-rays to determine if injections would help, but her X-rays were clean.
How did you first come across Source, and when did you start using it?
I’d heard of Source but had no knowledge or experience with it. I was gifted a bottle in May 2025—a bottle that changed our lives!!!
Within two weeks, the very visible hind leg inflammation had decreased! She was moving better and seemed happier!
The Difference Holly Noticed
Which Source product do you use for Snazzy?
Source Horse Hemp Oil, 5,000 mg.
How much do you give her at a time?
One full dropper over her grain in the morning. She’s much larger than the average horse, weighing 1,300 pounds.
And that’s part of her daily routine? How do you give it to her?
Yes, in the morning, over her grain.
How long were you using it before you started noticing changes?
Only TWO WEEKS!
What specifically stood out to you? Was there a moment when you realized things were different?
Her visible hind leg inflammation went down significantly. She seemed happier and in less discomfort. She soon discovered she could roll and get back up on her own, thanks to the reduced inflammation and mobility.
Was there anything you had hoped would change that didn’t?
Nope! I’m a believer.
Have you noticed any unwanted effects or had any trouble giving it to her?
Absolutely none!!
Beyond the physical changes you were seeing, what changed for you?
I no longer had to pray she could get up when she laid down!
A Routine Holly Isn’t Changing
How long has CBD been part of Snazzy’s routine now?
A year and a half.
Have you changed that routine over time or with the seasons?
Nope. If it works, I’m not messing with it!
What would you want another horse owner to know about your experience?
You have nothing to lose! Your horse will thank you, whether they’re anxious, arthritic, have rough heat cycles, or unknown aches and pains.
And finally, what does seeing Snazzy comfortable and enjoying life mean to you?
It’s everything! She’s my heart horse. She’s raised my babies, and it wasn’t fair that she was almost taken too soon because we couldn’t get her comfortable.
For Holly, the moment that stands out is simple: watching Snazzy roll and get back up on her own. An ordinary part of a horse’s day that had become a frightening unknown.
After years of ranch work, trails, clinics, and helping raise the kids, Snazzy holds a place in Holly’s life that goes far beyond what she can do under saddle. As Holly puts it, “She’s my heart horse.”
Thank you, Holly, for sharing your experience, trusting Source, and letting us introduce our readers to Snazzy. Your belief in what we do means so much to our family.
