We’re always up for sharing when something cool happens here at Source. And of course that includes When We Get Source CBD in the News
This week, we’re super excited to share that Source, and our CEO Ian Pedersen, are being featured in the latest issue of High Times Magazine!
CBD has been growing in popularity for domestic animals, and Ian has also worked with rare and exotic animals to explore potential applications and observations with CBD in a variety of species.
Source CBD in the News: Lions and Tigers and Snakes? Oh My
No, that’s not a typo.
“We’ve actually had some really interesting observations — not only with common pets like dogs and cats, but also with exotic species and invertebrates.”
For the last few years, Ian has collaborated with Out of Africa Wildlife Park in Arizona, learning how CBD is being used with animals large and small — including lions, tigers, snakes, and even a rare ibex goat.
Exotic Animals and CBD
Meet Chalet, an extremely rare 380-pound white Bengal tiger. Ian worked with park staff to explore CBD as a part of her care routine.
While her illness was serious, park staff noted that including CBD in her routine appeared to coincide with improvements in her activity, mood, and engagement.
Wild Wonders
Chalet’s best friend, Kumba, a 400+ pound lion, also participated in observational studies with CBD. Park staff noticed changes in his behavior when he was included in the program alongside Chalet.
These experiences are part of ongoing observations and exploration of how CBD is being incorporated responsibly into animal care routines.
Thanks to High Times for featuring Ian and Source CBD, and for helping us highlight our commitment to learning more about natural solutions for animals — big and small.
