Some companies start with a business plan.

Source CBD started with a moment that changed everything.

In 2013, photographer Chance Pedersen was asked to document the birth of a baby girl named Kyrsten. Doctors had diagnosed her with a rare condition called anencephaly, and her parents believed the photos might be the only memories they would have with their daughter.

The room was filled with quiet anticipation as everyone prepared for a moment they knew would be difficult.

But Kyrsten surprised everyone.

She lived.

As she grew, Kyrsten faced many challenges, including frequent seizures. Her family began searching for ways to support her quality of life. During that search, they began learning about CBD, something many people were only just starting to hear about at the time.

Finding a product they trusted was not easy.

Chance turned to her husband, Ian Pedersen, who had spent years working in the cannabis and hemp industry in Arizona. Ian understood how important sourcing, formulation, and transparency were in an industry that was still very new.

Together they began researching CBD from around the world, determined to find a product they felt confident sharing with Kyrsten’s family.

What began as a search to help one child quickly grew into something much bigger.

Friends began asking questions. Then neighbors. Soon more people in the community were curious about hemp and CBD but were struggling to find products they trusted.

That curiosity became the foundation for Source CBD.
