CBD Protein Bites

These bites pack a protein punch, and you don’t even need to turn on the oven.

Plus, with the added CBD oil, you get that extra oomph.

Here are our 3 faves!

1. Grab-and-go Breakfast

These little bites are the perfect pairing with your morning cup of Joe, especially because one of the ingredients is coffee! And they’re way healthier than the pre-packaged breakfast bar or muffin from the coffee shop.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1/4 cup ground flaxseed
  • 1/2 cup almond butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon instant coffee
  • 1/4 cup chocolate chips
  • 2-3 droppers CBD oil

To make:

  1. Mix together the oats, flaxseed, salt, and coffee.
  2. In a separate bowl, stir together the almond butter and honey and microwave for 30-40 seconds, until you can blend it well.
  3. Pour over the oats, add the CBD, and mix together.
  4. Put it in the fridge for 30 minutes, or until the dough is firm.
  5. Once it’s firm, form it into balls.
  6. Store in a covered container in the fridge or freezer for up to 2 weeks (if they last that long!).

Quick Tips for Perfect Protein Bites

CBD protein bites are easy to make, but a few quick tips don’t hurt.

1. Don’t feel like using the microwave? Skip that step and use a food processor. The results will be the same. You can also use a little muscle power and mix the ingredients together by hand.

2. Sometimes, depending on your ingredients, the mixture may need a little help. These apply to all 3 recipes:

  • If your mixture is still too wet after you’ve chilled it, add some more oats.
  • If it’s too dry, add more of the wet ingredients (peanut butter, almond butter, honey or maple syrup).

3. Do a taste test. Before rolling out all the balls, taste your mixture. If it’s not sweet enough, add a little more honey or maple syrup (whatever the recipe calls for) and mix again.
