How to Find the Best CBD Oil for Dogs

There are several different things to look for when you’re searching for a high quality CBD oil for dogs. Here are the most important tips.

#1 Don’t Go Based on Price

It’s easy to say that the best CBD oil for dogs will be the most expensive you can find. That’s not always the case.

Sure, price should be a consideration – you don’t want the cheapest bottle (you get what you pay for, at least in part). They’re often cheaper because of subpar ingredients or manufacturing processes. But, just because something is expensive doesn’t mean it’s the best.

So, look for these things to back up your decision.

#2 Look for Organic CBD Oil

This is one of the most important things to look for. You want to make sure that the CBD oil you’re buying comes from organically grown hemp. That way, you can be sure it’s free from pesticides or fungicides, which can be harmful to your pup’s health.

#3 Check the Certificate of Analysis

Any legitimate CBD company will offer up a Certificate of Analysis (COA) from a third party laboratory. This certificate outlines all of the testing done on the CBD oil to ensure it’s pure and that it contains what the label says it contains.

#4 Look at How it’s Made

#5 Check the THC Content

Checking the THC content is important for legality, since some States still require limits of no more than 0.3%. That said, it’s also important to check the levels to ensure the safest use for your pet. Try to find a full=spectrum oil that contains less than 0.3%.

There are tons of companies out there that sell CBD dog treats. Some are good. Some are not so good. And again, there are important things to think about when it comes to CBD treats.

First off, just because a bag of treats says CBD oil, that doesn’t mean there’s any left after the cooking process.

CBD starts to break down at 200 degrees and is almost completely gone by 350 degrees. Most treats are baked, thus affecting the efficacy of CBD.

It also doesn’t mean your dog’s even going to be able to absorb it. CBD tincture absorbs into the bloodstream faster than treats, which have to pass through the stomach first.

If you’re set on treats, take your regular treats and add a few drops of a high quality tincture to each one. Let it soak in. This way, your dog gets treats that you already trust, plus the CBD oil that hasn’t been cooked.
